MBSR students join the program seeking to feel a sense of balance, calm & connection in their lives. If you share these aspirations then MBSR can be a valuable mindfulness learning pathway for you. Two decades of scientific research on MBSR show it can help you find more ease & cope better with stress, work life balance & other difficulties like anxiety & depression.


When life gets stressful, it can be overwhelming, we can experience thought-based thinking patterns we feel stuck in. MBSR students report they feel more spacious, less critical of themselves & others, happier & more engaged in their lives. The program can help you slow down & connect more kindly & purposefully to yourself, your relationships, work & life as a whole.

MBSR will teach you mindfulness skills & practices through an experiential & systematic learning pathway that is underpinned by theory, empirical MBSR & MBCT research & eastern wisdom tradition. You will be guided through a self-discovery journey within our safe & inclusive community. You will begin what will hopefully become your lifelong practice & a purposeful approach to life.

How does mindfulness work?

Mindfulness facilitates brain plasticity and although the research is still in its infancy there is emerging evidence showing that it can mediate the regions in the brain involved in attention control, emotional regulation and self-awareness. After the 8-week MBSR program the physiological and neuro-scientific research shows a change in structure and function of these regions in brain. You will understand the mindfulness theory cognitively but it's through the practice the body and mind becomes integrated and this is a different kind of awareness and knowing that is experiential and practice based.

Who is the mindfulness-based stress reduction course for?

The MBSR course attracts a diverse population; young and old alike and we find mindfulness is a great equaliser and glue for social cohesion. This course is for anyone feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or exhausted who wants to find more ease. If you're feeling sick of the daily grind and seeking more insight, self-understanding and meaning. If you want to feel more balanced, calm and connection then this course is for you. Perhaps you've tried other forms of psychology or self-help programs and looking for something a bit different that works.
