What is a Women's Circle?

A women's circle is a gathering where women come together to share, support, and connect in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space. It's a modern practice rooted in ancient traditions, designed to foster an ecosystem for diverse and inclusive community, creativity, networking and soulful personal growth.

The Wise Women's circle is a facilitated by Marion Miller, a coach, artist, ecotherapist and mindfulness teacher in her Glen Iris studio. It includes a short talk and teaching, meditation practice, ritual and creative process. You're invited to engage in conversation and heartfelt sharing. All creative materials, worksheets, herbal tea and supper is provided by Marion.

In the circle, women take turns speaking about their experiences, thoughts, and feelings. The focus is on being heard and supported, rather than on giving advice. This creates an empowering environment where women can feel seen, validated, and deeply connected to their intuitive nature, and one another.

Reclaiming Your Story Through Nature, Art, & Ancestral Wisdom. 3 Part  Workshop

Our modern world, we are often centered around technology and comfort, trading the value of silence, solitude, and stillness for busyness, anxiety, and restlessness. Because of this, we may feel we have lost our sensitivity and ability to listen, feel, and sense the natural world.

This Ecotherapy workshop series is a journey to remember and re-awaken our profound connection to ourselves and the world around us. Through the three core practices of mindfulness in nature, journaling, and creativity, we will explore our somatic, emotional, instinctive, and creative connections. We will make an intentional effort to develop a deeper, more compassionate relationship with our local environment.

This Workshop series has three modules:

Workshop 1: Awakening your senses

This module introduces nature-based mindfulness, journaling, and creativity. Participants learn to awaken their senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, taste) to cultivate wonder, awe and heart connection. The core activity involves selecting and engaging with a "sit spot" for daily mindfulness practice and art journaling, aiming to develop intimacy with their inner and outer world.

Workshop 2: Unearthing the Mythic Self.

Focusing on "Stories, Ancestry, and Belonging," this module explores how personal narratives, family origins, and ancestral lands shape identity and spirituality. Participants engage in an "ANCESTRAL MAP - ART PRACTICE & JOURNALLING" activity to creatively represent their heritage. The session also examines influential childhood stories and their archetypal patterns, with homework involving the creation of a "spirit house, or altar."

Workshop 3: Rooted in Belonging

This final module aims to help participants root themselves in their local landscape and envision their future. It includes a "KNOW YOUR PLACE Journalling" activity to deepen relationship with their immediate environment. The concept of a personal "calling" is explored through a "Vision for Future beings" journaling exercise, mandala and a guided "YOUR CALLING RITUAL AND MEDITATION JOURNEY," integrating instinct, emotion, and reason.
